“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation” (Mk 16:15). This is the mission that Jesus entrusted to his apostles. It is the same mission that the apostles have passed on to their successors – and it is the mission of the Church today.<\/p>

The School bears witness and proclaims, so that all may believe in Christ and in his Word, may hope in the fullness he has promised us, may live and love with him and like him. The Catholic Church guards this sacred Tradition, meditates upon it with love, shares it with the men of all times and all places, while preserving it from falsification and error. St. Louis Senior High School has the following Spiritual activities<\/p>

  3. Benediction on Sundays before Prep<\/li>
  4. Station of the Cross during Lent Season<\/li>
  5. Rosary Prayer during Rosary Month<\/li>
  6. Carols Night in December<\/li>
  7. Arch Bishop’s Visit in the middle of the 2nd Term<\/li>
  8. Student’s Retreat at the Last Week end of every term<\/li>
  9. Teachers’ Retreat; a day after vacation<\/li><\/ol>

    HARMONY, PEACE and UNITY are our ambition, because these are the prerequisites for success in life.<\/strong><\/p>

    ABOUT THE CHAPLAINCY – THE CHURCH OF ANNUNCIATION<\/strong><\/p>

    Question: When was the Chapel built?<\/p>

    Answer: The school\u2019s chapel was built on 25th<\/sup> March,1966 and this\u00a0 brought about the name ;Church of Annunciation because An Angel declared unto Mary.<\/p>

    Question: Goals and plans of the chapel?<\/p>

    Answer: The renovation of the chapel someday to make sure students get the maximum comfort and satisfaction. Also, stocking the chapel with more pews and changing the Mosaic.<\/p>

    Question: Problems facing the chapel?<\/p>

    Answer: The Mosaic is spoilt and needs renovation since it is very old, the pattern is purposely made to give an outline of Jesus Christ, Immaculate Mary, and the Saints.<\/p>

    Question: The number of priests that have been here so far?<\/p>

    Answer: Nine priests so far, we had Father Num(SMA priest),Father Van de Laa, Father Coman, Rev.Fr.Mattew Adusei, \u00a0Rev.Fr.Patrick Nkrumah, Rev.Fr.John Amankwah,\u00a0 Rev. Fr. Henry Mensah, Rev. Fr. Paul Kumah and Rev. Fr. Eric Ankapong<\/p>

    Question: The societies under the church?<\/p>

    Answers: The Catholic Students Association, Lector\u2019s society, St.Vincent de Pual society, The Ladies of the Blessed Sacrament and the Soul Shakers\u2019 society.<\/p>

    Question: The goals of the various societies?<\/p>

    Answer: The Catholic Students Association was set up do build unity among Catholics and also to help students pray. The goals of the school\u2019s choir is to be able to minister through hymns and songs into one\u2019s soul to change the lives and also to spread the gospel. The proclamation of the word is the goal of the Lector\u2019s society, the goal of the St.Vincent de Paul is to perform charitable duties. The goals of the Ladies of the Blessed Sacrament is recruit more mass-servers to help the priest at the altar during Mass. Finally, the Soul Shakers\u2019 society\u2019s goals are to be able to minister the gospel through music and dance and also drama to win more souls to Christ .<\/p>

    Question: The impact of the various societies under the church?<\/p>

    Answer: All societies under the church hope for the best of all students and to help them in times of need. The ministries inculcate into their members, the need to cling to God in all situations. Also, they build up students\u2019 spiritual lives rendering them to have faith in God, hope for the better and teach them on how to attain eternal life. This moulds the pupils\u2019 lives in order to be on the right path to attain God\u2019s special blessing. T he Legion of Mary society which encourages praying\u00a0 of\u00a0 the rosary which helps students especially Catholics to be proud of their faith. This helps one to get God\u2019s intervention and divine mercy.<\/p>

    FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER; YEAR A<\/strong><\/p>

    SUNDAY’S REFECTION BY REV. FR HENRY MENSAH, THE SCHOOL CHAPLAIN<\/strong><\/p>

    Theme: \u2018I am the Way the Truth and the Light\u2019<\/i><\/b><\/p>

    The loss of a loved one can be very devastating in our lives especially when the person\u2019s life is cut short abruptly. Usually, it brings sorrow and sadness to us. Sometimes we cry and even ask the question \u201cwhy\u201d.<\/p>

    The context of our Gospel reading today is one of sorrow in the hearts of the disciples of Jesus. In Jn. 13:33, Jesus tells his disciples that He will be with them only a little while and that the disciples are going to look for him. It was Jesus\u2019 farewell message to them about His going away from them and what he required of them.This message is what has brought sadness to the hearts of the disciples. They had known Jesus and now it seemed that in no distance a future, everything will come to an end for them. This is the background to today\u2019s Gospel.<\/p>

    Our Gospel passage begins with a note of assurance to these people who are sad. The words of Jesus to them are \u2018Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God still and trust in me\u2019.<\/i>But why should they not be troubled and trust in God and in Jesus? Jesus promises that He is going to prepare a place for them and will come again to take them with Him. He promises that there are many rooms in His Father\u2019s house for them. This should bring some joy to the disciples and to us as well. What it means is that it is for our own good that Jesus goes away. He goes to prepare a place for us and He will come again to take us with him.<\/p>

    But why will Jesus give us this promise? Why will He go to prepare a place for us in His Father\u2019s house? Peter in the second reading answer that \u201cBut you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a consecrated nation, a people set apart to sing the praises of God who called you out of the darkness into His wonderful light\u201d.<\/i> Through the death and the resurrection of Christ we have been bought for God from a fruitless way of living. We therefore belong to God and are precious to him. This then explains why it is necessary for Jesus to go ahead of us to prepare a place for us. This again is an assurance to us that we need not be troubled because we are precious to God.<\/p>

    However, we need to know that while Jesus is gone to prepare a place for us because we are precious in the sight of God, we need to prepare ourselves adequately so that He may come to find us ready for the Kingdom.The men selected to serve at tables in our first reading needed to be men of good reputation, filled with the Spirit and with wisdom. If this was the case for even people whose duty would be only to serve at tables, then it goes to say that for a higher gift like Heaven, we need to prepare ourselves much more than this.<\/p>

    But how do we prepare ourselves for the promise? What is the means to this promise? This is exactly the question of Thomas when He asked \u2018Lord we do not know where you are going how can we know the way?\u2019<\/i> The answer of Jesus to him should be enlightening to us. \u201cI am the way, the truth and the life.No one can come to the father except through me\u201d<\/i>. The way to prepare therefore is living in total trust in the promises of God and following all His teachings. A trust in Jesus which so affect our own way of life, our relationship with others and our own attitude to material possessions.<\/p>

    The words of Jesus today then should be comforting to us. Even though, we do not see Him now it is because He is preparing a place with the Father for us. While we wait it is important that we do so with absolute trust and believe in Him.<\/p>

    Do you trust in Jesus as the way the truth and the life? Do you seek Him with all your heart?<\/p>
